
The copy portal was a self-driven project to fill a specific need: Educate our copywriters on our products so they could write informed copy, and save my time (and my colleagues’ time).
Initially, this project was a product guide. In addition to detailed product information, I expanded the scope to include:
- Copy style guide
- Product walk-throughs
- Examples of successful emails, landing pages, and in-product messages
- Audience research
- User personas
And for internal use, I added:
- Copy request form
- Guidelines for requesting great copy
My role
Project manager/writer: I built this portal from ground up, collaborating with a colleague to write product information. All other pages were written by me.
Results
Previously, I spent 5 or more hours a week gathering information for copywriters. After the portal went live, I was able to simply link contractors to it, saving valuable time.
